Part Time Lover is a North Park listening bar, cocktail lounge, and record shop built with Folk Arts Rare Records in the room’s bloodstream. It took over the former Bar Pink address, but the format is different: no live band at the front, no generic late-night playlist, just records, drinks, and a custom analog system doing the work.
The venue has a Japanese listening bar influence without turning the room into a museum piece. The layout was designed for unobstructed sound, with guest selectors and record collectors shaping the night. Exact turntable and speaker models are not public, but the system is described as custom analog hi-fi with vintage tube amplification.
This is not a stiff listening temple. It is a busy San Diego bar with a record shop inside it, so weekends can tilt social. Go earlier or midweek if you want the system to matter more than the crowd.
