Holding Patterns is an underground listening bar and cafe on Albion Place. The 60-capacity main room moves from coffee and reading during the day to cocktails and selector-led nights, with a ten-person nook at the back for quieter listening.
The system uses Martin Audio speakers, Technics turntables and Pioneer players through a MasterSounds Radius 4 valve mixer. GIK Acoustics Alpha 2A diffusers and absorbers treat the room. It is a more deliberate setup than most cafe-bars manage, built to keep the music present without turning every conversation into a contest.
Local DJs and guest selectors play regularly, using both vinyl and digital sources. This is a social room rather than a silent kissa. Best for listeners who want considered sound without museum manners, whether that means an afternoon coffee or an evening set.
