UMusic Bar sits inside UMusic Shop Camden, a music retail space split between a vinyl shop, listening studio, vinyl lounge and performance stage. The bar is part of the shop rather than a separate late-night room, so the pace is closer to an active record store than a traditional jazz kissa.
Dedicated listening stations give visitors somewhere to choose an album and play it on a Victrola Automatic Turntable. Artist takeovers, listening parties, live performances and DJ sets add a programme beyond self-directed browsing, with the bar opening alongside a Stevie Wonder takeover and sets from London Sound Academy.
This is a useful stop for someone who wants to browse records, hear one at a dedicated station and stay for a drink or an event. The room is social and fan-facing, with more emphasis on discovery than audiophile ceremony.
