Fidelity

Dublin, Ireland

Fidelity is an audiophile bar, restaurant, club, and event space in Smithfield, Dublin, created by The Big Romance and Whiplash. The main Fidelity Studio is a 300-capacity hybrid room built around a pure focus on the dancefloor and great sound, with listening parties, DJs, day parties, late parties, food, drinks, and club programming all sharing the same acoustically treated space.

The sound system was custom built by Hatchett Sound in Cork, with a large Linea Research-powered main system, a dedicated Rollover Room setup, bar fills, and booth monitors. Every wall and ceiling surface has been treated with acoustic materials so the room can work as both a serious listening environment and a late-night club.

The music policy is intentionally open. On any given night the bar can move from soft jazz to heavy house music, while the atmosphere stays relaxed and informal: dress however feels comfortable, order drinks at the bar, or settle into the Studio for table service when it operates as a restaurant from Wednesday to Sunday before shifting into club mode on Friday and Saturday nights.

Sound System

  • Speakers Hatchett Sound custom main system: 3-way passive 1200W tops with B&C 15-inch mids and B&C 1.4-inch coax compression drivers on bespoke 21-inch SEOS waveguides, plus a centre reflex-ported subwoofer stack with three pairs of BMS 18-inch 1200W ultra-low drivers. Rollover Room has B&C 18-inch triax tops with 12-inch tapped horn subs; bar fills use Volt 8-inch coax drivers.
  • Amp Linea Research amplification and processing for the Main Room and Rollover Room; Biamp amplification for bar fills
  • Turntable Ground-level DJ booth with AlphaTheta Euphonia house mixer; exact turntables and media players not specified in the owner pack

Acoustic Treatment

Every wall and ceiling surface has been acoustically treated using cellulose, acoustic panels, acoustic brackets, Cewood, and related materials, designed for optimum internal audio while reducing noise outside.
