The Listening Room occupies 36 seats inside The Dimsum Room in Kala Ghoda. Munro Acoustics designed the system around large exposed 12-inch and 5-inch drivers, borrowing the logic of an active four-way studio control room without making the space feel like one.
The acoustic work is unusually visible. Fibrous material lines the ceiling, while hollow seating pods and high-density foam with Helmholtz resonators help control the room. The aim is practical: music can carry evenly without forcing diners to raise their voices.
Vinyl is the starting point, with listening sessions, album and EP launches, showcases and visiting DJs extending the programme beyond dinner. It is a social room, but one designed so the music survives the conversation and still reaches every seat.
