Rose’s is a hi-fi restaurant and bar in Virginia Beach’s ViBe Creative District, built around records rather than a playlist tucked behind dinner service. Resident selectors play throughout opening hours, with a programme that can move from jazz and soul into funk, disco and house.
The system uses custom wooden four-piece speaker stacks designed by Jon Bless, combining modern and vintage components. The exact amplification and turntables have not been published. At dinner volume, the setup is meant to keep the music present without flattening conversation; after 9pm on Friday and Saturday, featured DJs take over and the dance floor opens.
This is a social room with a serious sound system, not a silence-first listening session. Go early for a table and a longer listen, or later when the system is given more headroom. Either way, the records have a defined role in the evening rather than serving as décor.
