Parachute HiFi is the listening-bar version of Parachute, now settled into Avondale with Korean-American bar food, cocktails and a vinyl programme built into the room. It is still a restaurant, but the hi-fi side is part of the format rather than decoration.
The sound runs through Klipsch speakers, with vintage vinyl, local DJs and collectors shaping the evenings. The music policy is broad enough for a neighbourhood room: jazz, soul, funk and independent records rather than one fixed kissa lane.
Expect a restaurant with a listening-bar spine, not a purist room. The right visit is dinner or drinks when the music is being handled by someone who knows why the speakers are there.
