Only The Wild Ones has a separate Austin branch on South Congress, set in a fully outdoor courtyard behind The Butcher’s Daughter. The sunken conversation pit, timber seating and shaded garden make it a social room, but the music programme has more substance than a patio playlist.
The custom system comes from Israel’s One-A-Way HiFi, with 59-inch red-oak speakers and high-end Ortofon cartridges. Music journalist and Dust & Grooves founder Eilon Paz shaped the programme, while local vinyl selectors move through jazz, funk, soul, disco, dub, electronic music and less obvious international records.
Regular DJ sets sit alongside proper listening sessions, including an official series built around Cut Chemist tracing the records behind his work. The room is open-air and conversational, so it will not behave like a silent kissa. It suits people who want serious analogue programming without giving up the sociable pace of an Austin wine garden.
