Monk 41C is a ten-seat listening cafe in SS15, Subang Jaya, also described as a modern jazz corner. There is a Japanese jazz kissa influence, but the format is local and compact: coffee, tea, coolers, desserts and a room built around sitting still with records.
The collection runs to more than 200 records, mostly jazz, with pop, hip-hop and rock around the edges. The team chooses the music, and the small menu is deliberately lean, so the cafe does not drift into laptop-room territory.
The ten-seat scale matters. Conversations need to stay low, and the no-laptop etiquette keeps the room closer to a listening session than a work cafe. Monk is still young, with ticketed sessions planned, but the basic idea is already clear: coffee, vinyl and close attention in a small room.
