Mixtape sits on the first floor and terrace above Haiku in Belgrano. The room takes its cues from Japanese kissa without trying to copy one line for line: perforated wood, low light, a visible record booth and a layout that moves between indoor listening and open-air seating.
Vinyl leads the programme, with CDs and prepared playlists used alongside it. Guest selectors and the recurring Copas Llenas de Música series bring in bartenders who also choose the night’s records, so the music is planned rather than left to shuffle. The interior was arranged with sound in mind, while the terrace gives groups somewhere to talk without crowding the booth.
Food and cocktails are a substantial part of the visit, including a separate omakase counter, but the musical idea survives the full restaurant service. Mixtape works best for people who want a social kissa rather than a silent listening room: sit inside for the system, then move outside when the conversation takes over.
