Gold Line is a Highland Park vinyl bar from Peanut Butter Wolf and the Stones Throw orbit. It is not trying to be a silent Tokyo kissa. This is a neighborhood bar with serious record culture: cocktails, conversation, guest DJs, and a wall of records behind the bar.
The system is a real part of the room: vintage Altec Lansing speakers, McIntosh amplification, a Bozak rotary mixer, a Thorens turntable, and two turntable setups across two listening areas. The house library is the point. DJs and bartenders work from Gold Line’s own records rather than laptop sets or brought-in crates.
Go early if you want more space around the system. Later, Gold Line behaves like a busy Highland Park bar with better records than most. It suits funk, soul, disco, hip-hop, rare groove, and anyone who wants a social room where vinyl still matters.
