Esthetic Joys Embassy is a hybrid listening bar, dining room, and disco in a 1927 villa in Dorćol. Supaform based the interior on the rounded geometry of Saša Mächtig’s K67 kiosk, filtering the Japanese listening-bar idea through Yugoslav modernism. Deep yellow surfaces, oval ceiling lights, dark timber, and a station clock give the room its particular retro-futurist character.
The main system is anchored by a pair of vintage JBL 4435 studio monitors and a substantial vinyl collection. Six Ichiran-style booths offer a more private alternative: draw the curtain, put on the headphones, and order through the service hatch. The venue’s programme runs from daytime dining into selector-led evenings and dancing, so the degree of focused listening depends on when and where you sit.
This is not a purist, silent listening room. It is a social venue with serious speakers, records, and a thoughtful way to step out of the crowd when you want to listen alone. Take one of the booths for the most focused session; stay by the JBLs when the shared programme is the point.
